4. Small class sizes
We have less than 20 students in the majority of our South Lanarkshire College class sizes. This is a great benefit to you the student as students perform better in smaller groups. A class size of fewer than 20 students allows for increased individual attention from the lecturer, increased participation, and better communication between the lecturer and students.

At our state-of-the-art campus in East Kilbride, we have outstanding classrooms and workshops for you to learn in. The facilities are continually being changed and adapted to meet our students learning needs. Everything you need is in our one campus, so you are never far away from our support teams, the canteen, shop, beauty salon, training restaurant or our relaxing outdoor space.
You can study at college in different ways. It depends what works for you. Have a look at the options available.
Full-time courses are the quickest way to complete a qualification and will normally mean that you’re expected to attend classes for a minimum of two-and-a-half days a week but this does vary per course and can be more, depending on the course of study.
For some people full-time study may be out of the question. You can choose how you study to suit your busy lifestyle. Usually, a part-time course takes longer than a full-time course, but you still cover the same syllabus, assignments, classes and exams.
There may be opportunities to infill across a range of full-time courses. In all cases, part-time study of this nature is by negotiation and subject to there being sufficient spaces available after full-time students enrol in August/September.
Places on most part-time, evening courses are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to you meeting the entry requirements- in the same way as full-time courses.
Take a look at our course finder for all our full-time courses.
