The College is home to 6,000 students and is situated in the centre of East Kilbride, just 7 miles from the Centre of Glasgow. The area boasts a lively student community. There’s plenty of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants as well as easy access by public transport to the major city of Glasgow.

The College is situated less than a mile away from East Kilbride Shopping Centre and Calderglen Country Park. Both are great places to visit on your lunch break.

We’ve over 150 courses full and part-time courses designed to give students the skills valued by employers and the knowledge to move on to further study.

2. Wide range of subject areas

We have a fantastic portfolio of courses across a variety of different areas which can be studied on a full time, part time, day release and evening basis so there’s something to suit everyone. Our courses are covered in three curriculum areas, Construction, Care and Business and cover a wide range of subject areas from beauty to business, from plumbing to painting and decorating, from hospitality to horticulture and from Science to Social Care.

3. Study offered up to Degree level

We deliver a choice of programmes from SVQs all the way through to Degree level.

We offer an Accounting degree level programme in partnership with University of the West of Scotland

At South Lanarkshire College you can gain your Bachelor of Accounting degree over three years , with an option to progress onto Year 4 Honours in Accounting at UWS.

4. Small class sizes

We have less than 20 students in the majority of our South Lanarkshire College class sizes. This is a great benefit to you the student as students perform better in smaller groups. A class size of fewer than 20 students allows for increased individual attention from the lecturer, increased participation, and better communication between the lecturer and students.

SLC is a bright, modern and forward thinking college where we put our students and partners at the heart of everything we do. At our state-of-the-art campus in East Kilbride, we have outstanding classrooms and workshops for you to learn in. The facilities are continually being changed and adapted to meet our students learning needs. Everything you need is in our one campus, so you are never far away from our support teams, the canteen, shop, beauty salon, training restaurant or our relaxing outdoor space.

6. Sustainable Environment

The College is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through a range of initiatives:

The building has been rated Very Good by BREEAM
The heating is managed by a Building Management Software system
Low energy boilers are used for heating and hot water
Lighting is automatically switched off in areas that are not in use
All waste is taken for sorting and recycling
Staff and students are encouraged to use electronic documents
Where printing is necessary, both sides of the paper is used
There is a bus stop for public transport on campus to reduce the carbon footprint of cars and encourage students to access the campus on public transport
There are cycle racks and showers for those who cycle to college and staff are encouraged to take part in the cycle to work scheme
With the support of a range of sponsors, a low carbon house has been built on campus as a training resource to highlight the use of domestic dwelling renewable energies and low carbon building techniques
We added an annex building on the campus in 2016 which was the first to be awarded BREEAM Outstanding (2014) in the world.
A large Solar array produces electricity which is consumed on Campus
Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps assist in heating the main building
